The next time you call Comcast (and any time in the future), record the conversation. A copy of the call where they were laughing at you would be priceless to use against them in small claims court.
As soon as that little recording plays, you know the one:
"This call may be monitored or recorded"
They have implicitly agreed to allow you to record as well. You don't need to further notify them and you don't need to play a recording like that yourself. Good for the goose stuff.
have you thought about an alternate provider at this point?
I agree about the call recording, if they announce they are recording it (be sure to record that message) then it's fair game at that point. After all they let you know they are recording, it seems just as fair.
Sorry man, same thing happened to us. We ended up getting so frustrated that we paid for a guy to come out and "fix" our internet... (which obviously wasn't broken)
I hear you with the comcast problems, and I've been paying for cable service I never technically received, since my cable line was spliced from the apartment above us, (by comcast technicians). We've had absolute crap service for the last year, and it took calls to the BBB, the FCC and a claim of cable box tampering to get them to send a team out to us to fix our problem. When they inspected the box, they found 15 illegal connections, and they fixed our line. (By running an individual line to my apartment) We are still fighting to get some kind of reimbursement for the service we never go. If any of you have any advice on how to deal with these a-holes, please send me an e-mail at FredKRealEstate( at ) gmail.com
If you are looking for the best way to save money on your cable, Internet and home phone needs take a look at Comcast specials. All three of these things bundled into one low monthly payment, you will be able to utilize it better.
Hi, everybody. I started this blog on July 19th after Comcast turned our internet off for no reason and with no notice. I'll post anytime my roommate GB or I talk with Comcast; I'll also be adding backdated entries to fill in the rest of the story (this has been going on since early June). Because I want people to read this, I will try not to swear too much; instead, I will pepper my postings with sTIcKy CaPs, 1337 5p34k, and lolcats to express my frustration in a family-friendly way. Enjoy.

Depends on the state you live in (RE: recording the conversation). A decent guide for reporters can be found at http://www.rcfp.org/taping/
If you want to resolves this and not just complain, call the Executive Complaint Center at Comcast. They usually resove problems in a day or 2:
Comcast Cellular Communications
1500 Market St
Philadelphia, PA 19102-2100
(215) 665-1700

If it's any consolation, due to Comblast's MAC address voodoo, I've been getting free internet for over a year.
